I was pleased by the smooth running of the symposium. It looked like the organizers tried to do all they could to make sure the event was informative, well rounded, and fun.

Excellent symposium, inspiring; well organized, sized and sited;

* A well-informed guide / docent at the Cosmosphere could have made the visit Much more interesting, and inspiring;: Perhaps Tucson can be more appreciated this way;

* Astrophysics is an important dimension for Interstellar Research and Development, and would enrich all kinds of Interstellar matters

* Increasing collaboration with the IAF International Astronautical Federation could be very mutually beneficial

Response from Interstellar Research Group

Mr. Durst replied in email that he had wanted to give a rating of 4 or 5 (ideally, 4.5) but unintentionally set the review to 2 when submitting it. We can’t edit the rating (if we could, the rating system would be meaningless), but we thought we should mention this.

I was amazed by the selection of topics and participants. The meeting definitely stimulates to think about future in all of its aspects.

I liked the technical depth of this TVIW very much.

When I got interested in interstellar flight , back in the 1950s, I never saw a technical paper in the journals.

Later only a few papers were given at the International Astronautical Congress and almost none at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics meetings.

Now , there has been TVIW since 2011 , times have changed.

Fascinated by Topics Presented and Excited for the Next Symposium

I have never been to any conventions or symposia before, but I’m afraid that TVIW may have set the bar high for the next convention I attend. The presentations were thoughtful, innovative, and very grounded. I enjoyed the span of topics from interesting but distant, to present and important. Very few topics were beyond the scope of the near future, and those that looked further ahead were very good at describing what pieces were simply problems of engineering or scale, and which problems were problems of a technology not yet existing. From the first contact protocol meeting to the problems with microorganisms on the ISS and the possibility of terraforming Venus the topics captured the imagination while remaining within the realm of possibility.

I look forward to the next TVIW in 2021.
