Benefits of Being a Symposium Patron

Supporting the Symposium

Our symposia would not be possible without the support of our donors.
There are multiple ways you can support IRG generally and the 2027 symposium specifically.

  • Membership: a recurring annual payment, tied to an individual. Benefits of different membership tiers are shown here.
Proceeds are used for the general purposes of IRG and are tax-deductible.
  • Patronage: one-time gifts from individuals or enterprises, specifically to support a particular event.
The benefits of different levels of patronage for the 2027 symposium are listed
    below.
Proceeds are used for designated purposes related to the event, and are tax deductible.
  • General Giving: one-time gifts from individuals or enterprises; proceeds are used for the general purposes of IRG and are tax-deductible.
  • Planned Giving: larger, more complex transactions made as part of a philanthropic strategy or estate planning. Details are here.
Proceeds may or may not be designated for particular purposes, and are generally tax-deductible.

If you or your organization wish to become a patron for the Tenth Interstellar Symposium to be held in Atlanta in September 2027, please contact treasurer@irg.space.

The patron levels are as follows:

Orbital  < $500
Lunar  $500–$999
Planetary  $1,000–$2,999
Interstellar  $3,000–$5,999
Galactic $6,000+

There are also opportunities for “Special Purpose” patrons. A Special Purpose patron is some person or organization that contributes for a specific purpose related to the symposium,  like funding a student travel grant, covering the cost of a catered event, or some other particular need, rather than to cover general costs of the symposium. Contact us for details.
