

Alex Ellery

Prof Alex Ellery is a Canada Research Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University where he heads the Centre for Self-Replication Research (CESER – https://carleton.ca/ceser/). He is the author of two textbooks An Introduction to Space Robotics (2000) and Planetary Rovers: Robotic Exploration of the Solar System (2016). He is currently working on his first popular science title Manna from Heaven: How to Save the World. His main research interests are space/planetary robotics, robotic astrobiology, in-situ resource utilisation, planetary industrialisation, biomimetics and self-replicating machines.
